Canaveral Port Authority Cruise Terminal 5

Cape Canaveral, Florida

An outmoded, undersized facility needed to serve modern cruisers.

As the Carnival Cruise Line prepared to launch a new, post-Panamax Conquest-class cruise ship, the Canaveral Port Authority had a problem. The terminal where passengers would embark on the luxury cruiser was undersized and obsolete. The world’s second busiest cruise port trusted 澳门足彩app to make their dream terminal a reality.

澳门足彩app expanded and upgraded the facility in less than eight months.

Beyond the need to serve an additional 1,000 passengers, the terminal required substantial upgrades to the existing 100,000 square-foot structure. Along with a new entry and new two-story passenger and baggage handling areas, the boarding bridges were enlarged and fitted with continuous sliding doors to accommodate new mobile passage gangways.

The team celebrated a smooth delivery despite a changing sea of challenges.

The project was fast tracked and demolition began before design documents were complete. 澳门足彩app’s discovery efforts during demolition led to hundreds of opportunities for collaboration as the team carefully coordinated field changes brought on by existing conditions. In addition to meeting the schedule, the team worked closely with U.S. Customs and Border Protection to ensure full compliance with Federal requirements.

  • 100,000-square-foot cruise terminal renovation and addition to accommodate Conquest and Dream class vessels.
  • Project includes a new entry, second floor additions, elevators and escalators, finishes, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire sprinklers.
  • Sitework and underground utilities were also provided to further expand cruise operations.
  • Maintenance of traffic, coordination with Port users, and passenger safety at the Port were a primary focus throughout construction.
  • Complex, fast tracked project.
